WAVE CONFERENCE / VIRGINIA BEACH

Preparing your team for Wave Conference

Wave Conference 2027 takes place October 6–7 at Wave Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Morning leadership sessions are designed for pastors, ministry leaders, and the teams who serve alongside them. The following suggestions can help your team prepare for the gathering and turn shared learning into thoughtful action when you return home. These are planning recommendations, not an announced session agenda.

Choose a shared purpose

Before you travel, invite each person to name one question about their ministry and one area where they hope to grow. Look for common themes without expecting everyone to have the same needs. A short conversation can help your team approach the conference with curiosity, listen carefully, and support one another. Agree on a simple way to collect notes so useful ideas are easy to revisit.

Plan for both learning and worship

Morning sessions require paid registration, while evening sessions are free and open to everyone. Review the registration options for each attendee and check the schedule closer to the event, as session times are still to be determined. Leave room for meals, transportation, and unhurried conversations rather than filling every available moment with another team meeting.

Make space for reflection

During the conference, write down what stood out, the questions it raised, and how it relates to the people you serve. When your team reconnects, let each person share before deciding which ideas to pursue. Distinguish a helpful principle from a specific practice: an approach that serves one church well may need to be adapted for another community.

Decide on a manageable next step

After returning home, choose one practical next step together. Identify who will lead it, what support they need, and when you will discuss progress. Keep the conversation focused on serving people rather than collecting more tasks. For event logistics, read the Wave Conference visitor guide; for questions about attending, use the contact page.
